Will a Power Steering pump from a 1996 Eagle Talon ESi work in a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS?

Both Vehicles sport the 420A engine, but I want to make sure the the stock PS Pumps are interchangable before I start the install.

Call a parts store and ask for a PS pump for a Mitsu and have them give you the part number. Call the same parts store and ask for a PS pump for the Eagle. Compare the part numbers. If both cars were the same year, I would say most definitely, they should swap out, but with a 3-year gap, there may have been some minor changes.

It is very possible. The eagle brand was kinda like the old AMC brand. The builders used spare parts available to other builders. I would say a visual inspection of the pumps would be the best thing to do. If they look close they will probably work. If the parts don't interchange a simple rebuild kit would be the next best thing. Rebuild kits are fairly cheep and easy to do.
